Marine corporals set up an impromptu "Baby Bath" in the village of Thuy Tan during September 21, 1965. Corporal Ronald A. Brwin from Gallipolis, Ohio, and Corporal George W. Rentze from Haxlehurst, Georgia are seen in the photograph, with Rentze cradling the baby. The squad initiated this routine as an act of goodwill towards destitute villagers who couldn't afford soap. The "Baby Baths" were performed daily by thirteen Marines and one sailor from the 2nd Squad, Joint Action Company. This image was taken by SSgt. C. Durie, and is a part of the Vietnam War's American Military Activities album.
