Rapanea Upvillei (D'Urville's Rapanea). A small tree, sometimes 20 ft. in height. Leaves reddish-brown, with waved margins, 1 in. long. Flowers small, white, in fascicles on the lateral branchlets. Berry l^ in. , black. Fl. Native name Mapnu, ilnpoH, or ]\Iatipu. The name Blatipo is generally applied by Europeans to Pittosporam tenuifulium, but this is apparently the plant to which the JIaoris attached the name. It hears some reseinblance to Pittosporum temiifolium, but can be readily distinguished hy the reddish colour of the leaves.
