Catholic priest carries the Palladium of Bohemia in Stara Boleslav, Czech Republic, on September 28, 2011. Palladium of Bohemia, a gothic bronze relief of Madonna, is one of the most sacred objects and pilgrimages destinations in the Czech Republic. According the legend, Saint Ludmila gained it from Saint Methodius and than gave it to her grandson Saint Wenceslas. Saint Wenceslas wore it around his neck in the day he was murdered by his brother in Stara Boleslav on September 28, 935 or 929 AD. The day of his death is now the national holiday in the Czech Republic. The Palladium of Bohemia is now deposited in the church of the Ascension of Virgin Mary in Stara Boleslav, Czech Republic.
