The 8K Shamrock Shuffle kicks off the running season in Chicago annually in early April. In addition to heralding the start of the running year, the event also brings an end to the St. Patrick's Day events in the city. As such, many of the about 25,000 participants compete in costume, generally with an Irish theme such as this runner who took wearing of the green to a new level.
