Kneeling dromedary and handler, Naqsh e Rostam, Mavdasht, Iran


Naqsh-e Rostam is an ancient necropolis in the Marvdasht valley containing tombs of the Achaemenid kings are carved into the face of the fawn-colored limestone cliffs. They have the shape of Persian crosses and date from around 500 to 300 BC. Outside the gates to the site horse and camel rides are offered.
