Young frog at 10 weeks. Tadpole of the common frog (Rana temporaria) in its two leg stage of development. The back legs have developed, but the tail is still the primary means of locomotion. The forelegs are also developed but will remain hidden beneath the operculum (gill flap) until the tadpole is about 12 weeks old.
