A Spanish cup-hilt rapier, circa 1670, Slender thrusting blade of diamond section, the point slightly shortened. The upper quarter on both sides with deep fuller with stamped signature "XX JUANEZ DE TOLEDO XX". Cup with distinct flange, profusely embellished with rich openwork of cut tendrils and flowers. Guardapolvo in fine openwork design. Extended, straight quillons with guard ring and spirally fluted terminals. Grip with replaced iron wire wrap and Turk's heads.
