Skin cancer. Light micrograph of a section through a dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) tumour. This is a rare malignant (cancerous) tumour of the dermis (middle layer) of the skin. It is a slow-growing tumour that rarely spreads beyond the skin. Treatment is with surgical removal of the tumour, although it often reoccurs. Magnification: x150 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
