Print shows a fireman standing in the street at the front end of a long carrier for a hook and ladder mechanism with several ladders in decreasing lengths stacked on top. It appears that the carrier is pushed from the front and the rear by men, rather than being drawn by horses. The carrier is parked in the street at the front of the Empire Hook & Ladder Company, No. 1."
