Ironwood Forest National Monument, located in southern Arizona, is a protected area known for its unique desert landscape and rich biodiversity. The monument is named after the Ironwood tree, a species native to the Sonoran Desert, which thrives in this rugged environment. Spanning over 129,000 acres, the monument is home to diverse flora and fauna, including the endangered desert bighorn sheep and iconic saguaro cacti.
