False Turkey Tail (Stereum Ostrea) Fungus


Stereum ostrea, irregular, semicircular or bracket-like, often overlapping; zonate and multicolored in shades of brown and rust; densely hairy. Fertile undersurface smooth, pale buff. Flesh thin, tough, leathery. Habitat on logs and stumps of hardwoods, especially oak.
