In connection with the use of step lights the company isconsidering the adoption of a device for cutting in and outthe lamps as a car stops and starts. Such a device manu-factured by the Automatic Signal Light Company, of Colo-rado Springs, is now being tested at Denver. The device isarranged to make and break the circuit which feeds the steplights so that the lamps will burn when the car is sloweddown to about 4 miles per hour and remain burning duringthe stop, to be cut out when the car has again reached a speedof 4 miles an hour. All of the Denver cars are equipped withmotormens mirrors and the motormen state that with the auto-matically operated light the sudden
