A German sporting crossbow, dated 1898. Massive steel prod with cord anchor, wool tassels, and twisted bow string. The fruitwood tiller has a slight belly and an engraved bone quarrel groove. There are vine-shaped inlays on the sides, and the cheek-piece is decorated with a German eagle. Dated "1898" on the underside. Iron nut, bolt clamp, sights, and trigger guard. Single set trigger.
