An impressive rhinoceros horn, South Africa, 1909 Very robust, extraordinarily beautifully grown horn from a magnificient white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum). Slightly polished surface, at the base rough and in its natural state, somewhat cracked. The lower rim with holes for fixation and the bottom with insect damage. Engraved brass badge on the front side, inscribed "Athi plains 1909". Length measured along the outer curvature 84 cm, weight 4,685 g. CITES certificates available.
