During the year there have been built 1,527 miles of Metropolitansewer within the sewerage districts, so that there are now of Metropolitan sewers. Of this total, miles of sewers,with the Quincy pumping station, have been purchased from citiesand towns of the districts. The remaining miles of sewersand other works have been constructed by the Metropolitan boards.
