The meeting took place aboard De Grasse’s flagship off Lynnhaven Bay in what is now Virginia Beach. Present at the meeting was Virginia Beach Mayor, Robert M. Dyer, members of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, French officers assigned to NATO’s Allied Command Transformation, historical re-enactors in period specific uniform, and distinguished guests. The guest speaker for the event was General Andre Lanata, Supreme Allied Commander for NATO-ACT.
