By Susan A. p ow many of the readers of like to write letters ?It is certain that some of themdo, or Jack-in-the-Pulpit wouldnot receive so many from youngsubscribers. But I am quite surethat some of them have beenheard to say, Oh, I hate towrite letters ! and it is to suchas these that I would speak. As we may safely take it forgranted, from the alacrity withwhich the postman is met at thedoor, that every one likes to receive letters, it seemsto be worth while that boys and girls should learnhow to write, with ease and pleasure to themselves,those letters which their friends shall find it apleasure to read. Letter-writing is very much a matter of habit,and for that reason it is important that youngpeople should learn early to consider it a pleasantway of communicating thoughts and feelings totheir friends, instead of a burdensome task to begot over as quickly as possible.
