Art exhibition in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Samsul Arifin's outdoor installation at the ArtJog 2014 exhibition. The 105 giant rag dolls are a commissioned work by Samsul Arifin, a Yogyakartan artist. The artwork tells the beginning of a new era of national leadership and has successfully transformed the façade of Taman Budaya Yogyakarta into a big art installation. Samsul Arifin - 'This work is a satire on the people's representatives in the Cabinet. Although seemingly smart and highly intellectual, they seriously lack social sensitivity. Featuring behaviours uncharacteristic of leaders, the Goni Cabinet is displayed in a variety of poses and narratives, inviting you to freely interpret these expressions.'
