Sounding, 1542 m. About 15 cc. of brown mud, washed on 200-mesh silk gauze, yielded 2 cc. residue of fine sand and pumice with many diatoms and Foraminifera. Miliotmnma arenacea, M. oblonga, Trochammina bradyi, T. inconspicua, T. globigeriniformis and Textularia tenuissima were all common. Among rarer forms were Textularia nitens and T. antarctica.
