I used to think thechurch of St. John the Divine on MorningsideHeights in New York would hold the record fordeliberate construction on the two Americancontinents, but I did not know about La Paz. Thisbuilding has been under way for fifty years, andthe builders were quite active the first few years,but at the rate they are going now, it will not be.
