The amphibious assault ship USS TRIPOLI (LPH-10) sits in drydock following repair of a large hole 10 feet beneath its waterline. Four sailors were injured and the vessel severely damaged when an Iraqi mine exploded near the TRIPOLI on February 18 as helicopters from the ship conducted minehunting operations in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm.
