El Calafate, Patagonia, Argentina - Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. The Perito Moreno Glacier is part of the Patagonian ice field, the Campo Hielo Sur, the third largest freshwater reserve in the world. It is located in the province of Santa Cruz on Lago Argentino, the largest lake in the country. The Perito Moreno Glacier is up to 30 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide. Its edge is 70 metres high at its highest point. Small icebergs that have broken off from the glacier float in Lago Argentino. The glacier is one of the most beautiful sights in South America and is one of the most visited attractions in Argentina.
