The state bureauhas secured a firm of consulting oil geolo-gists to conduct investigations in westernOregon. Insufficient work has been donehitherto to obtain the necessary geologicinformation upon which to prospect for oiland gas. ABERUEEJJ, WASH.—June Si Two Carloads of Casing and one carloadof machinery for Standard Oil pro-jected well near Moclips, Wash., at the endof the branch line of the Northern miles north of -Aberdeen, arrived at Mo-clips the middle of June and are beingtransported to the site of the oil derrickover wagon roads, construction of whichhas just been completed. Offices and cookhouse are finished, as is the laying of mudsills for derrick and engine room, and indi-cations point to an early start of ROAD BUILDING BT STAXDARD OIL CO., NEAH MOCLIPS, WASH. LAST STRETCH IN SEC. 8-20- 12, JUNE 5,1919. fhotu by Uirard & Frank. Aberdeen, Wash. Shell Oil Geologists arrived this week. This is taken in somequarters to indicate intention on the partof that corporation to enter the Grays Har-bor oil exploration field, but no statementsto that effect have been authoritativelymade. No activities, in fact, of the num-ber of companies, mostly newly organized, now in the field safely may be taken asaffording sound indication of actual de-velopment intentions. Nothing has trans-pired clearly to prove that any explorationof oil prospects is planned other than thatundertaken by the Standard Oil uponsome stage of whose work, in the opinionof most local observers, other concerns arewaiting before starting development pros-pects themselves.
