Water molecule. Computer graphic of a molecule of water (H20). The dotted spheres are a Van Der Waals representation of the atoms. The water molecule consists of a central oxygen atom (red) combined with two hydrogen atoms (white). The bond angle between the hydrogen atoms is about 110 degrees (depending on the physical state of the water). Water is essential to all life forms on Earth, and covers about 70% of the Earth's surface.
