S2 ONIONS. The Livingston Seed Co., Columbus,' Ohio Livingston's Superior Onion Seed We are justly proud of the Record of tbe Fine Strains of Livingston's Onion Seed German—Zn-iebel. Yi&txch.—Ognon. Spanish—Cebolla. Having made a specialty of growing Onions for a great many years, botti for the market as well as for seed purposes we know that we are in a position to fully appreciate the vital necessity there is for using the most painstaking care in the selection of the Onions that have to be set- cut each season; and from which our seed Is saved Tbere is no crop which depends more upon tl^e quality of the seed than does the Onion crop. GOOD ONION SEED is of the most vital importance, if you expect satisfactory results. The seed we offer we know is not surpassed anywhere; and is always thor- oughly tested for vitality before it is sent to customers, so that it is absolutely sure to grow, where soil and season are favorable and is equally sure to produce an abundance of well-shaped Onions, free from scullions or stiff-necks. Our one aim has always been, and is, to sell at reasonable prices, and as low as any reliable firm in the American Seed Trade, who have an honest reputation for offering only strictly first-class onion seed to their customers. |~<a<|l#1f nA Onion seed should be sown as soon as possible in the Spring, even if the weather is cold, just so the soil works-up well. This giyes the onions a good start aliead of the weeds, and before dry weather can set in. After thorouglily pulverizing the soil, sow thinly 4 to 5 pounds to the acre, in drills one foot apart and about one-fourth inch deep. When well started, say four inches high, thin-out to stand three to four inches apart in the rows, keeping them well hoed and free from weeds. Onions delight
