A Sharps pepperbox, Gebrüder Maurer of Vienna, circa 1870 Without number. Four-barrel pepperbox with rifled, bright bores in 9 mm calibre. On barrel tops gold-inlaid signature, gold band inlays above chambers. Frame, hammer and drop barrel knob also with golden band inlays and fine, fully engraved tendrils. Ivory grip panels. Length 19 cm. Comes in its original case inlaid with green velvet, lid lining replaced with green felt and carries adhesed original, gold-printed manufacturer’s label. Case dimensions 22 x x 5 cm.
