Boston, MA, USA, 01 May 2020. Less than 50 pro President Trump demonstrators took part in a rally to reopen Massachusetts in front of the Massachusetts State House in central Boston on the same day that Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker made wearing a face covering or mask mandatory in public. Baker also extended his states stay-at-home order until May 18th. While most of the protesters did not wear face coverings, the media covering the event did.

Baker also extended his states stay-at-home order until May 18th. While journalists covering the event wore face coverings, most demonstrators outside the state house did not. Demonstrations against state stay-at-home emergency orders and business closures happened in a number of major cities on May 1st.
