Vintage Clayton Shuttleworth steam traction engine at Beamish museum of Northern Life
This engine was built in 1906, weighs tons, and is named Louise. First used on the Marquis of Zetland estate in N yorkshire. Sold to the Ashington coal company and used for timberwork and threshing until 1921, when it was converted to a road roller. Purchased by the present owner's father in 1971, it was restored to original specifications over the next 3 years. When pictured in 2007, it is owned by Mr A Lister of Warkworth, Northumberland.
