Tummel Bridge Power Station. Pitlochry, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, United Kingdom, Europe.

Tummel Bridge power station receives water from Dunalastair reservoir and discharges into Loch Tummel. Completed in 1933, it is one of Scotland’s earliest hydro stations. It was a potential target for bombs during World War II. Inside, it still retains blackout blinds and an air raid shelter. The Tummel Valley scheme collects water from 1,800 square km of the Grampian Mountains. The main storage reservoir is Loch Ericht. In the 1930s, this area became one of the first in Scotland to be developed for hydro power.
