Iceland 2010 volcanic eruption of the Eyjafjalla volcano started in March 2010 with lava fountains from a fissure near Fimvorduhals between Eyjafjallajökull and Myrdalsjökull glaciers. Eruption of the Eyjafjalla volcano is often followed by severe eruptions of neighboring Katla volcano.
