Pleasure boat and buoy moored on the Thames, sun reflecting off the waters. Seen at Radley Boathouse; Built in 1849, this well-equipped centre for rowing and water sports has the good fortune to be located on a particularly beautiful stretch of the Thames. But here's the question- what is the buoy called? A little search shows it variously named as a bumper, fender, boat ball, mooring buoy, anchor buoy and probably several other names I missed. But do we really care, anyway?
