James \Vhipple Robinson, Poynette, Wis-consin, is now living in honorable retire-ment in that village, and is numbered amongthe older and more venerable residents ofC(jlumbia county. He was born in Castle-ton, Rutland county, Vermont, October 3,1822, and is a son of Dean Tyler and Try-phena (Whipple) Robinson. He was edu-cated in Castleton Seminary, and came toWisconsin in 1846, settling in the town ofLeeds, Columbia county.
