16th century Vaxholm Fortress is a well-known landmark in Vaxholm, the capital city of the archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden


Vaxholm Fortress dates back to the 16th century and used to be an important defence point in Vaxholm, the ”capital city” of the archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden. It now hosts an army museum. Mosts ferries between Stockholm city and its popular 24,000 island archipelago pass this fortress on their journey.
