Pyogenic granuloma on girl's skin

Pyogenic granuloma on the skin of a 13 year old female patient. A pyogenic granuloma is a harmless overgrowth of tiny blood vessels that often appears after minor injury to the skin, although they can also occur with certain medications. The lumps can grow rapidly however they rarely become larger than 1 cm. They often bleed profusely with little or no trauma. They can occur at any age but are most common in children, young adults, and in pregnancy. The growth will normally disappear on it's own without treatment but can be removed by electrocautery, cryosurgery, laser surgery or more conventional surgery.
