Tomatoes grown hydroponically in a commercial glass house, Dingle Peninsula, south west Ireland. Hydroponics is a method of cultivating plants in gravel, or as in this case, with root systems wrapped in polythene, through which water containing dissolved inorganic nutrient salts is pumped. The engery required to run & heat this glass house is provided by a small three-blade wind generator on the grounds.
