Stock of all kinds is more plentiful, Roses are still a trifle high in price, but the quality is of the best. Valen- tine 's day proved to be a winner for the local florists. The only bad fea- ture of this flower day, from a florist's standpoint, is that the orders all come with a rush at the last minute and it taxes the delivery department to the limit to get all the orders out on time. Violets sold well. They were by far the leader, with valley, freesia, tulips, etc., as close seconds. There were not nearly enough roses to go around, while carnations were plentiful. The latter part of the last week saw stock of all kinds moving slowly. Bulbous stock is nearly a glut. Lilies are selling well and some excellent Formosas are to be seen, Callas are fine and sell on sight. Green goods of all kinds find a ready sale. Various Notes.
