Heritage house of Meat market on Voldersgracht 1 with other houses and blue sky Delft South Holland


Between 1295 and 1350 the cellar of the meat market was built This served as a storage area for the meat that was traded in a wooden hall above this cellar In 1650 this wooden hall was replaced with the current stone building designed by architect Hendrik Swaef The building was one of the few buildings in Delft in the Dutch Classicist style From 1870 to the beginning of the 20th century a corn exchange Korenbeurs was located in the building and that is what it owes its current name to These days the building houses the youth society Open Jongeren Vereniging de Koornbeurs and they organise activities for young people from Delft and the surrounding area
