The Board of Directors of the Phila-delphia and Reading has elected T. Dice, president of the company,succeeding Mr. Theodore Voorhees, de-ceased. Mr. Dice entered the service ofthe Pennsylvania road at an early 1882 to 1887 he was assistant en-gineer, and served sometime on the signaldepartment on tlie same road. Tn 1893and 1894 he was superintendent of sig-nals on the New York Central, and from. G. .\ 1894 to 1897 he was superintendent on theAtlantic City road. In 1897 he was ap-pointed assistant superintendent on theReading division of the Philadelphia &Reading and latterly superintendent onseveral divisions of the same road, andfrom 1903 to 1910 gen?r?l superintendent 140 RAILWAY AND LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEERING. April, 1916. on the same road. From Jan. 1, 1910, tothe present date he has been general man-ager and latterly also vice-president onthe same road. He is universally es-teemed among railroad men. and is stillin the prime of life. Mr. George H. Duggan has recentlybeen elected president of the CanadianSociet} of Civil Engineers. He is agraduate of the University of Toronto,and joined the engineering departmentni the Canadian Pacific in 1886. FromIS91 to 1901 he was chief engineer of theDominion Bridge Company. Later hewas appointed assistant to the presidentand consulting engineer of the DominionSteol Company and Dominion
