Scientists are trawling from the deep sea in 500 to 1000 meters in the South Atlantic Ocean a tremendous variety of different organisms. In the laboratories of German research vessel RV Sonne they are screening their catch. Here they found a a mollusk. Wissenschaftler holen aus der ewigen Dunkelheit der Wassertiefen zwischen 500 bis 1000 Meter eine erstaunliche Vielfalt von Tiefsee-Organismen aus dem Süd-Atlantik. In den Labors des deutschen Forschungsschiffs Sonne sortieren sie als erstes die für ihre Forschung interessanten Tiere aus, den Rest wie dieses Weichtier geben sie zurück ins Meer.
