Keighley is a former mill town, which grew massively during the industrial revolution and has a sizable population of ethnic minority inhabitants, mainly from the Kashmir area of Pakistan and from Bangla Desh. British National Party leader Nick Griffin was defeated in the parliamentary election of 2005.
