Buddhist chortens on a ridge above Tengboche, Khumbu

High on a ridge top at 3867m, the Dawa Choling Gompa of Tengboche ( monastery of the Nyingma tradition) is the largest in the Khumbu region and the surrounding village has become a popular overnight stop on the Everest Basecamp Trek. It is visible below the chortens.
