Knee in ACDC. Coloured X-ray of the knee of a patient with ACDC (Arterial calcification due to deficiency of CD73), showing calcification (blue) in the main artery that supplies blood to the lower leg. This condition causes a calcium build-up in the arteries and joints below the waist. It is caused by a mutation in the NT5E gene that produces the enzyme CD73, causing it to form incorrectly and impair its correct functioning.
