During all the time he was with the regiment, lie was earnestfor its welfare and the comfort of all the men. In return, toan extent not often experienced by commanding officers, hehad the fullest confidence and love of the regiment. Before leaving for Worcester to assume his command,Colonel Upton received a valuable testimonial from histownsmen, and was addressed by Hon.
