Edinburgh, Scotland. Fri 1 April 2022. Piper Brìghde Chaimbeul and fiddler player Aidan O'Rourke perform live at St Giles' Cathedral as part of the Burns & Beyond festival. The concert took place below Michael Pendry’s art installation ‘Les Colombes (The Doves)’, a winding column of more than 2,500 origami paper doves which fly the full length of the Cathedral.


Brìghde Chaimbeul is a small pipes player from Sleat on the Isle of Skye. She released her acclaimed debut album ‘The Crossing’ in 2019 and was the winner of the 2019 BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award and 2016 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk award. Aidan O'Rourke is a fiddler, composer and producer based in Edinburgh and grew up in an Irish family in Argyll and learned fiddle in Oban in the West Highland style. He is a member of the group LAU who have won Best Group at the BBC 2 Folk Awards an unprecedented four times.
