LAREDO, Texas – In two separate events and within minutes of each other, Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended gang members attempting to illegally enter the United States. LAREDO, Texas – In two separate events and within minutes of each other, Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended gang members attempting to illegally enter the United States. The first incident occurred during the late evening of July 21, when agents from the Hebbronville Border Patrol Station apprehended an individual near Hebbronville, Texas. The individual was identified as Jose Lutz-Lizarraga, a 58-year old Mexican national. During investigation, it was determined that Lutz-Lizarraga had a previous conviction on the charge of Felony Assault with prior immigration removals. He also admitted to being a former member of the Sureno 13 Gang. Lutz-Lizarraga was criminally charged for his immigration violations and remains in Border Patrol custody pending second incident happened within the same hour, when agents from the Laredo South Station apprehended five individuals attempting to enter the United States illegally near Laredo. Records checks revealed that one individual, Miguel Angel Macias-Gonzalez, a 30-year old Mexican national, had a prior conviction of Burglary of Habitation with a prison sentence of one year. He was also identified as a member of the Paisa Prison Gang. Macias-Gonzalez was criminally charged for his immigration violations and remains in Border Patrol custody pending prosecution. Despite the ongoing international COVID-19 pandemic, Border Patrol agents of the Laredo Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and our communities by preventing dangerous criminals from entering into the United States.
