A vacant lot, visible from the local Whole Foods Market and its upscale clientele, shows visible signs of the harboring the homeless - discarded sleeping bags and tents, shoes, pants, books, and take-away food containers. The lot also features graffiti tags for "revolution", anarchy, and peace. The City of Portland is experiencing a rapid rise in property values and this lot has been at the center of controversy as out-of-town developers attempt to turn it into an upscale, high-rise condominium complex.
