Delaunay (Thuilleur, p. 79) says that some ritualists suppose thatit is the true form of the word of which Jabulum is a corruption. Thisis incorrect. Jabulum is a corrupt form of Giblim. The bestsubstantiated theory is, that to the learning and talent of ChevalierRamsey, tutor to Jamesi the Second, the germ of the degree is due, andthat its origin must be set at about the year A. D.
