Bushnell, Douglas Stewart (, 96),was born in New York city, October 12,1873. He was assistant manager at the SnowSteam Pump Works, New York, 1896-99,and spent part of 1899-1900 travelling inEurope for the benefit of his health, afterundergoing a severe operation which com-pelled him to give up business. He becameassistant engineer in the engineering de-partment of the Standard Oil Co., servingfrom 1900 to 1903. From the latter year todate he has been assistant general superin-tendent of the National Transit Co., TrunkLines Division, New York. He is a member. D. S. of the Washington Association of New Jer-sey, the Calumet, Morristown, and MorrisCounty Golf clubs, and of the Tau Beta Pifraternity. Mr. Bushnell is the son of Robert Grayand Ella J. (Stewart) Bushnell. His Eng-lish ancestors, landing in Connecticut in1629, moved to Pittsburg, Pa., in the earlypart of the nineteenth century, and his par-ents lived in that city until a few years be-fore his birth, when they moved to NewYork. He married Helen Maude Applegate,daughter of Rev. Octavius Applegate, , THE STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY October 5, 1901, at have one daughter, Eleanor Ray Bush-nell. Butler, Pierce (, 82), was born inFranklin County, Ky., September 6, 1858.
