Entrance to the Kaiser William Tunnel in Cochem, Germany. Completed in 1877, the tunnel took three and a half years to excavate and is two and two-thirds miles long. Private 1st Class Guy Armstrong and Private 1st Class Palmquist, from Company B of the 59th Infantry in the 4th Army Corps, can be seen guarding the entrance. Photograph taken on January 5, 1919.
