The UnionPacific have recently obtained fromthe Baldwin Locomotive Works some4-4-2 engines of the 4-cylin(Ier balancedtype for fast passenger service. One ofthese interesting engines was exhibitedat the Master Mechanics convention atAtlantic City this year. The design con-forms as far as possible in detail to thecommon standards adopted by the As-sociated Lines. The engine is built with cylinders 16and 27x28 ins.
